Busy entrepreneurs need to take their health more seriously

A leading private health practice, The Institute of Physique Management, has warned that busy executives working in high-speed, ultra-competitive industries will reach burnout and lose their competitive edge if they do not take their health and wellbeing seriously.
The warnings came from international health experts, Tim Bean & Anne Laing, who founded the Institute. They say that “A Ferrari Doesn’t Run on Lawnmower Fuel! …and neither does your amazing body run at its best on junk food. If you have a high performance career and a high performance lifestyle, you need to understand what your body really needs to keep running at optimum levels. ”
The duo have created a programme called The Hard Edge which is a one day intensive lifestyle masterclass which covers everything from coping with stress, maintaining energy levels, diet, mental well-being and of course an effective workout.
The Institute of Physique Management say that there is a proven link to the effectiveness of individuals’ performance and the bottom-line of an organisation.
Many high-profile business people have taken the one day masterclass and benefited from the results. According to Amelia Fawcett the former Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley said “This is a very impressive, highly effective programme for increasing the performance of high fliers in organisations like ours…Truly revolutionary on many levels”
Health is an extremely important aspect of the life of an entrepreneur but it is often a factor that is completely ignored. An opinion held by many is that “It won’t affect me” or “I’m too busy to be concerned with my health” but unfortunately it may affect you and it can be easy to forget that if you fall ill you won’t be able to run your business anyway – so why not take care of your health now to avoid problems in future? It will be better for you and your business.
